Meet María Carolina Fragozo-Ramos
María Carolina Fragozo-Ramos is an endocrinologist and clinical researcher currently working as an MD Ph.D. student at the Bern University Hospital’s Department of Diabetes, Endocrinology, Nutritional Medicine, and Metabolism (UDEM). She obtained her medical degree at the Universidad Industrial de Santander, in Colombia. After that, she obtained her residency training in Internal Medicine and a Fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Cartagena and Universidad de Antioquia, in Colombia, respectively.
Before joining the University of Bern, María Carolina also did a visiting research stay at the University of Virginia’s Center for Diabetes Technology where she participated in clinical research. Her research is focused on the study of the efficacy and safety of non-insulin glucose-lowering agents (previously used for the treatment of T2D) in T1D. Her PhD project is the GIP/GLP-1RA as Adjunctive to Automated Insulin Delivery in Adults with Type 1 Diabetes: A Prospective, Randomized, Clinical Study - The AID-JUNCT Trial.
