Meet Vihangkumar Naik

Vihangkumar Naik received his bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control from Sarvajanik College of Engineering & Technology, Surat, India in 2009 and his master’s degree in Instrumentation & Control (Process Instrumentation) from College of Engineering, Pune (COEP), India, in 2012. He received his PhD in 2018 from the Systems, Control, and Optimization (DYSCO) research unit, under the supervision of Prof. Alberto Bemporad at IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, Italy with a thesis titled ‘Mixed-Integer Quadratic Programming Algorithms for Embedded Control and Estimation’. He worked with ODYS S.r.l., specializing in the development of model predictive control systems for industrial production, prior to that as an Assistant Project Engineer in Virtual Lab Projects at the College of Engineering, Pune (COEP), India, and as an Engineer at Embedded Systems Centre of Excellence (ES CoE), Eaton Technologies Private Limited, Pune, India. His research interests include embedded mixed-integer quadratic programming (MIQP), model predictive control (MPC), system identification, artificial pancreas, and machine learning.
