A project to develop a health platform for patients receiving home parenteral nutrition therapy

EHealth refers to the use of electronic tools in healthcare to improve processes and connect patients with healthcare professionals. EHealth has great potential for the complex care of patients with home parenteral nutrition (HPE). We are developing an eHealth platform for HPE patients that includes video consultations (telemedicine), instructions (e.g. for patient education), and patient support groups. In addition, this platform is intended to be a central storage location for all treatment-relevant data for the patients and the medical staff involved in their care. The main goal is to improve the quality of life of HPE patients while promoting autonomy and self-confidence. Other goals are to avoid complications by optimising the care of HPE patients and simplifying logistics.
